Anne Perry
1938-
 

Anne Perry was born as Juliet Hulme in London. At an early age, she moved with her family to New Zealand. They settled in Christchurch. Juliet attended Christchurch Girls´ High School until 1954. In that year she and her friend Pauline Parker murdered Parker's mother. In 1959, after five years in prison, she returned to England and started a new life under the name Anne Perry. She worked as a secretary, then as an air stewardess, and at several other jobs. In 1967, she moved to the United States where she had a variety of jobs. In 1972, she returned to England because of the serious illness of her stepfather. In 1979, her first novel was published. She is the creator of ´Thomas Pitt´ and of ´William Monk´, both Victorian policemen. Visit also the author's own site.
