Martin William Smith was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his BA in 1964. He has worked for a television station, newspapers and as a correspondent for the Associated Press. In 1981, he created 'Arkady Renko', police officer in Moscow, Russia. He also wrote westerns, Nick Carter mysteries and several crime novels under the name 'Simon Quinn'. |
