Pseudonym of Georgi Alexei Bankoff (later it became George Alexis Bankoff). He was born in Samokov, Bulgaria and brought up in Russia. His father was a Bulgarian serving in the Russian Imperal Army. He lived in Germany when the Nazis came to power and in 1934 he fled to England. In 1938, he became a British citizen. He also wrote mainstream fiction and non-fiction. |
