Alex Palmer was born in London. She went to Australia in the late 1960s and currently lives in Canberra with her husband. She studied English Literature and Language at Macquarie University in Sydney and later gained a postgraduate diploma in Information Management at the University of New South Wales. She is the creator of 'Paul Harrigan', a Detective Inspector with the New South Wales Police Force.
