Jane Steen was born in Redhill, Surrey. She lived in Belgium for 16 years and then spent 19 years in the USA before returing to England. She currently lives in Rye, East Sussex. She is the creator of the 'House of Closed Doors' series featuring Nell Lillington, a dressmaker and amateur sleuth in 1870s Chicago, Illinois. Visit also this site.
