Simon Brett
1945-
 

Simon Anthony Lee Brett was born in Worcester Park, Surrey. He was educated at Dulwich College and then at Wadham College, Oxford, where he studied English. Between 1967 and 1977, he was a producer with BBC Radio. He subsequently spent a couple of years working for Thames Television. He has written and edited children's books, humorous novels and several anthologies. By 1979, Brett had become a full-time writer. In the early Eighties, he was able to move from London to the village of Burpham, near Arundel. Here he lives today with his wife and three children. He is the creator of:
1. 'Charles Paris', a professional actor and amateur detective.
2. 'Melita Pargeter', a widow and amateur sleuth.
3. 'Fethering Mysteries', featuring Jude and Carole, amateur investigators from the village of Fethering.
