Hugh Clevely
1898-1964
Pseudonym: Tod Claymore
 

Hugh Desmond Clevely was born in Bristol. In the Second World War he was active in the RAF as a pilot and finished the war as wing-commander. He also wrote under the pseudonym 'Tod Claymore'. Several of his novels feature 'Sexton Blake', a detective modelled on Sherlock Holmes. See also this list for other Sexton Blake authors. Clevely is the creator of:
1. 'Maxwell Archer', a private detective.
2. 'Inspector Williams', a Detective Inspector of Scotland Yard.
