Loren D. Estleman is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and a veteran police-court journalist. He also writes western novels. He is the creator of:
1. 'Peter Macklin', a professional hitman.
2. 'Valentino', a film archivist at UCLA and amateur sleuth.
3. 'Amos Walker', a detective in Detroit.
