Derek Alan Wilson was born in Colchester, Essex. He currently lives in Devon with his wife. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1961. He is a full-time writer and broadcaster. He is the creator of:
1. 'Tim Lacy', a security expert.
2. 'Thomas Treviot', a London goldsmith in 16th century England (under the name D.K. Wilson).
