Pseudonym of Marion Chesney. She was born in Scotland. She wrote numerous historical romances under the pseudonyms 'Helen Crampton', 'Ann Fairfax', 'Jennie Tremaine', 'Marion Gibbons', 'Sarah Chester' and 'Charlotte Ward' as well as under her own name. She is the creator of:
1. 'Agatha Raisin', an amateur sleuth in a small English village.
2. 'Edwardian Murder Mystery' series featuring Lady Rose Summers, an amateur sleuth (originally written under her own name).
3. 'Hamish Macbeth', a Scottish police constable.
