Pseudonym of Sarah Cockburn. She was born in London. She graduated in Classics from Aberdeen University and went on to read law at St. Anne's College, Oxford. On leaving Oxford she lectured in Law at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. She practised for several years as a barrister before becoming a member of the legal section of Lloyds Bank Trust Division.
