Charles William Thurlow Craig was born in Gresford, Wrexham. In 1917, he joined the Royal Navy. In 1922, he went to South America and worked as a farmer in Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil for more than ten years. He returned to Europe and spent two years fighting in the Spanish Civil War before returning to Wales to become a writer. |
