Samm Sinclair Baker was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He worked as a copywriter and agency executive in advertising before becoming a writer. He was the author/co-author of many how-to and self-help books and also wrote several books on gardening. He is the creator of 'Clark Clark Clark', an amateur sleuth in New York City.
