William Bankier was born in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. He wrote over 200 short stories which were published in Ellery Queen and Alfred Hitchcok mystery magazines and in many anthologies. In 1992, he was awarded the Crime Writers of Canada Derrick Murdock Award for his lifetime achievement.
