Nevada Barr was born in Nevada. She grew up in Susanville, California. She was educated at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and at the University of California at Irvine. For several years she was a member of a theater company in New York. After New York, she moved to Minneapolis, where she did more theater work. Barr worked as a National Park Service Ranger before she began writing full-time. She is the creator of 'Anna Pigeon', a National Park Service Ranger in Yosemite National Park. Visit also this site.
