Leigh Douglass Brackett was born in Los Angeles, California. She was an author, ghostwriter, and screenwriter known for her work on films as The Big Sleep (1946), Rio Bravo (1959) and The Long Goodbye (1973). She also wrote science fiction novels. She was married to science fiction writer Edmond Moore Hamilton from 1946 till his death in 1977. |
