Pseudonym of Daphne Wright. She was born in London. She worked in publishing before becoming a writer. She also writes psychological thrillers under the pseudonym 'Clare Layton' and in other genres under her own name and the pseudonym 'Kate Hatfield'. She is the creator of:
1. 'Karen Taylor', a psychology academic at the University of Southampton and occasional consultant to the police (as 'N.J. Cooper').
2. 'Trish Maguire', a barrister.
3. 'Willow King', an amateur sleuth with a double life.
