Michael Crichton was born in Chicago. He graduated from Harvard University. He trained as a doctor and graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1969. By the time he graduated, he had already written a bestseller, The Andromeda Strain, and sold it to Hollywood. He directed movies, and was the creator of the television series ER.
