P.C. Doherty was born in Middlesbrough, Cleveland, England and educated at Woodcote Hall. He studied History at Liverpool and Oxford Universities. He is now the Headmaster of a school in North-East London. He lives with his American wife and family near Epping Forest. He is the creator of:

6. 'Hugh Corbett', a clerk and later chief clerk and keeper of the Secret Seal in the household of King Edward I.
7. 'Margaret Beaufort Mystery' series featuring Margaret Beaufort, mother to Henry Tudor in 15th century England.
8. 'Mathilde of Westminster', a physician and lady-in-waiting to Princess Isabella.
9. 'Telamon', an old friend of Alexander the Great.
