Ronald Joseph Goulart was born in Berkeley, California. He is an author and cultural historian. He also wrote several novels featuring the famous movie star Groucho Marx as a private detective. He is the creator of:
1. 'Jack Conger', an operative of the Wild Talents Division of the U.S. Remedial Functions Agency.
2. 'John Easy', a private investigator in Southern California.
3. 'Star Hawks', agents working for Interplan Law Service.
4. 'Ben Jolson', a special agent of the Political Espionage Office of the planet Barnum.
5. 'Cleopatra Jones', a special agent of an unnamed secret agency (novelizations of movies).
6. 'Jack and Hildy Pace', private investigators who run Odd Jobs, Inc., one of the top private inquiry agencies in the galaxy.
7. 'Terry Spring', a reporter for a Boston television station (under the pseudonym ‘Josephine Kains’).
8. 'Jack Summer', a reporter for Muckrake magazine on the planet Barnum.
