George Vincent Higgins was born in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was educated at Rockland High School and Boston College. In 1965, he received his M.A. from Stanford University, California. From 1962 to 1966 he worked as a reporter and journalist. Higgins studied law at Boston College Law School where he obtained his J.D. in 1967. In 1974, he started a private practice as a criminal attorney. In 1987, he was appointed professor of creative writing at the State University of New York. He was married twice. |
