Anne Perry
1938-
 

Anne Perry was born as Juliet Hulme in London. At an early age, she moved with her family to New Zealand. They settled in Christchurch. Juliet attended Christchurch Girls' High School until 1954. In that year she and her friend Pauline Parker murdered Parker's mother. In 1959, after five years in prison, she returned to England and started a new life under the name Anne Perry. She worked as a secretary, then as an air stewardess, and at several other jobs. In 1967, she moved to the United States where she had a variety of jobs. In 1972, she returned to England because of the serious illness of her stepfather. She is the creator of:
1. 'Daniel Pitt', a barrister and son of Thomas Pitt.
2. 'Elena Standish', a photographer in 1930s Europe.
3. 'Thomas Pitt', a Victorian policeman and later a private investigator.
4. 'William Monk', a Victorian policeman.
