John Saul was born in Passadena, California. In 1959, he graduated from Whittier High School. He attended several colleges without obtaining a degree. After leaving college, he decided to become a writer. The next fifteen years he worked in various jobs while attempting to write a book. In 1976, he was asked by publisher Dell if he was interested in writing a psychological thriller. His first book became a bestseller. Saul is also interested in the theater. He has acted, and wrote several one-act plays. He lives in the Pacific Northwest and on Maui, Hawaii. Visit also this site. |
