James Mitchell
1926-2002
Pseudonyms: Patrick O. McGuire and James Munro
 

James William Mitchell was born in South Shields, County Durham. He has been a shipyard worker, travel courier, civil servant, teacher, journalist, lecturer and writer. He also wrote under the pseudonyms 'Patrick O. McGuire', and 'James Munro'. He created the BBC television series When the Boat Comes In. He died in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
