Linda Palmer was born in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was an author, screenwriter, production vice-president at Tristar Pictures and taught screenwriting at UCLA Extension. She also wrote two mainstream novels, Runaway (1980) and Starstruck (1981). She is the creator of:
1. 'Daytime Mystery' series featuring Morgan Tyler, co-executive producer of the daytime drama Love of My Life.
2. 'Della Cooks Mystery' series featuring Della Carmichael, the owner of a cooking school in Santa Monica, California (under the pseudonym 'Melinda Wells').
