 Rafael Sabatini was born in Jesi, Italy. He was educated in Switzerland and Portugal. He settled in England where he married Ruth Dixon in 1905. During the First World War he served in the War Office Intelligence Department. In 1935, he married his second wife Christine Dixon. |
