Bernhard Schlink

Bernhard Schlink was born in Bielefeld, Germany. He divides his time between New York and Berlin. He is an author, lawyer, and a former professor of law at the University of Berlin and a former judge. He also writes in other genres. He is the creator of 'Gerhard Self', a private investigator in 1980s Germany.
