Tom Towslee was born in Los Angeles, California. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his partner. He was a newspaper and wire service reporter for nearly twenty years befor going over to corporate communications and then press secretary for a member of the United States Senate. He retired in 2014. He is the creator of 'John Standard', a freelance writer and amateur sleuth.
