John Darnton was born in New York City. He is an author and journalist who worked for forty years for The New York Times as a reporter, foreign correspondent, and editor. After his retirement in 2005, he began teaching journalism as a visiting professor at the State University of New York. He lives in New York City with his wife. Visit also this site.
