 Pseudonym of John Bertram Innocent Foers. He was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. He entered the Civil Service (Customs & Excise Department) when he was 16. In 1941, he joined the RAF and served as an air navigator. After the war, he returned to Civil Service at London Airport. In 1953, he became a full-time writer. |
