Frederick Clyde Davis was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He was educated at Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. At the age of 22 he became a full-time writer. In the UK most of his novels were published under the pseudonym 'Stephen Ransome'. He is the creator of:
