Michael Dobbs

Michael Dobbs was born in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. He has been Chief of Staff and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and has a doctorate in defence studies. He also writes historical novels. He is the creator of:
1. 'Harry Jones', an S.A.S.-trained politician.
2. 'House of Card' series featuring Francis Urquhart, a ruthless politician who rises from Chief Whip of the Conservative Party to the office of prime minister through treachery, dececption, and murder (made into a television series starring Ian Richardson as Francis Urquhart).
3. 'Thomas Goodfellowe', an MP who fights against treachery and corruption.
