Alfred William Eyles was the son of Sir Alfred Eyles, Accountant-General of the Navy from 1906 till 1918. He married Margaret Leonora Pitcairn in Australia in about 1909. Back in England, he deserted his family and his wife divorced him in 1924. He is the creator of 'Paul Chisholm', a doctor and Home Office expert.
