Frank Castle Froest was born in Bristol. He joined the Metropolitan Police as a constable in 1879 and worked his way up to Superintendent of the Criminal Investigation Department. After his retirement he became a magistrate and member of Somerset County Council. He also wrote two novels together with George Dilnot. |
