Barbara Reichmuth Geisler was born in San Francisco, California. She currently lives in San Anselmo, California with her husband. She is the creator of 'Dame Averilla', the Infirmaress of the Benedictine Abbey at Shaftesbury, England in the mid-twelfth century.
