Mavis Doriel Hay was born in Potters Bar, Middlesex (a county in southeast England, now mostly part of Greater London). She also wrote a book about rural crafts with Helen Elizabeth Fitzrandolph called Rural Industries of England and Wales. In 1929, she married her co-author's brother Archibald Menzies Fitzrandolph. |
