Isabel Briggs Myers was born in Washington, D.C. She was an author and co-creator with her mother, Katharine Cook Briggs, of a personality inventory known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). She is the creator of 'Peter Jerningham', a playwright of murder mysteries and amateur sleuth.
