Louise Ross was born in Northumberland. She studied undergraduate and postgraduate law at King's College, University of London and studied in Paris and Florence. She has been a lawyer before turning to writing. She lives with her husband and son in Bath, Somerset. She is the creator of:
1. 'Alexander Gregory', a forensic psychologist and criminal profiler.
2. 'DCI Ryan', a Detective Chief Inspector in Northumberland.
