Marvin Hubert Albert was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an author, screenwriter, and editor. He is the creator of:
1. 'Pete Sawyer', private eye on the French Riviera and later a partner in a Parisian detective angency.
2. 'Johnny Morini', renegade Maffia member (under the pseudonym 'Al Conroy').
3. 'Jake Barrow', private eye in New York City (under the pseudonym 'Nick Quarry').
4. 'Tony Rome', a former lieutenant in the Miami police force turned private eye (under the pseudonym 'Anthony Rome').
He also wrote under the pseudonyms 'Mike Barone', 'Al Conroy', 'Albert Conroy', 'Ian MacAlister', 'Nick Quarry', and 'Anthony Rome'.
