Lettice Ulpha Cooper was born in Eccles, Lancashire and grew up in Leeds. She studied Classics at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. During the Second World War, she worked for the Ministry of Food's public relations division. She wrote novels, biographies, short stories, and children's books. |
