Henry Wynans Jessup was born in Beirut, Lebanon to American parents. He was an author and lawyer. His father, Henry Harris Jessup served as the acting pastor for the Syrian Church of Beirut and superintendent of its school for thirty years. In 1978, he moved to the USA. He died in Manhattan, New York City.
