Nigel McCrery

Nigel Colin McCrery was born in London. He was an author, screenwriter, producer, and former policeman. He created the long-running crime dramas Silent Witness (1996-present) and New Tricks (2002-2015). He also wrote in other genres. He is the creator of:
1. 'Mark Lapslie', a Detective Chief Inspector.
2. 'Samantha "Sam" Ryan', a forensic pathologist in London.
