Stephen Solomita was born in Bayside, Queens. He worked as a cab driver before becoming a novelist. He is the creator of:
1. 'Julia Brennan', a detective with the New York NYPD (under the pseudonym 'David Cray').
2. 'Stanley Moodrow', a cop turned private eye.
