Ross Thomas

Ross Elmore Thomas was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He served with the infantry in the Philippines during World War II. He worked as a public relations specialist, correspondent with the Armed Forces Network, union spokesman, and political strategist in the USA, Bonn (Germany), and Nigeria before becoming a writer. He is the creator of:
1. 'Mac McCorkle and Mike Padillo', a saloon owner and a spy in Bonn, Germany.
2. 'Philip St. Ives', a professional mediator between thieves and the people they rip off (under the pseudonym 'Oliver Bleeck').
