Robert Thorogood was born in Colchester, Essex. He currently lives in Marlow, Buckinghamshire with his family. He is an author and screenwriter best known for the creation of the television series Death in Paradise. He is the creator of:
1. 'Death in Paradise Mystery' series featuring Detective Inspector Richard Poole on the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie.
2. 'Marlow Murder Club' series featuring senior citizen Judith Potts and two lady friends, amateur sleuths in Marlow.
