Ovidia Yu was born in Singapore where she still lives. She is an author, short story writer, and playwright. She has won several awards. She is the creator of:
1. 'Rosie "Aunty" Lee', an amateur sleuth and proprietor of Singapore's best-loved home-cooking restaurant.
2. 'Su Lin', an amateur sleuth and governess for the Acting Governor of Singapore 1930s Singapore.
