George Greenfield began his career in publishing with the firm of T. Werner Laurie. In 1953, he joined the John Farquharson literary agency, from which he retired as managing director. He was a literary agent and good friend to John le Carré. He was also Director of the Enid Blyton company and wrote a biography of Enid Blyton in 1998. In 1989, he published Scribblers for Bread: Aspects of the English Novel Since 1945; and in 1995, his memoir, A Smattering of Monsters. |
