Margaret Haffner was born in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She currently lives in Windsor, Ontario and heads the tissue culture laboratory at the Greenhouse and Processing Crops Research Center in Harrow. She is the creator of 'Catherine Edison', a scientist in fictional Kingsport, Ontario, Canada.
