Jayne Ann Krentz and her husband reside in Seattle, Washington. Before starting her writing career, she earned a B.A. in History at the University of California and an M.A. in Library Science from San Jose State University. She also writes contemporary and romantic fiction under her own name and under the pseudonyms 'Jayne Bentley', 'Jayne Castle', 'Amanda Glass', 'Stephanie James', 'Amanda Quick', and 'Jayne Taylor'. She is the creator of:
1. 'Burning Cove' series featuring different protagonists in 1930s Burning Cove, California (under the pseudonym 'Amanda Quick').
2. 'Fogg Lake' series featuring different protagonists in the small town of Fogg Lake.
3. 'Guinevere Jones', the owner of a temporary employment agency in Seattle (under the pseudonym 'Jayne Castle').
4. 'Lost Night Files' series featuring three women who investigate cold cases.
