Mary Harriet Thynne grew up in Kensington. She was a member of the aristocracy, great-granddaughter of Thomas Thynne, 2nd Marquess of Bath and great-niece of the American painter James Whistler. She is the creator of 'Dr. Constantine', a chess master and amateur sleuth. |
